The Western Front one hundred years later ...

 

I live in Geluwe, a village near Ypers in Flanders fields, Belgium.

 

Since my childhood I have been fascinated by all the cemeteries that I see around me.

Back then I had no clue that all those beautiful maintained graves and monuments were

the result of a terrible historical event: the First World War, also known as the Great War.

Now, many years later, my fascination is still here.

 

Teaming up with my passion for photography, I've created some beautiful pictures with the

returning subject of the WW1 graves and monuments of the Western front.

On this website, I'd like to share them with you and in this manner want to contribute to the

World War One remembrance.
